Amy is 32 from Colchester in Essex and is a Mother to two lovely boys aged 3 and 6 months.
Amy has a Foundation Degree in Professional Floristry from Writtle College in Association with Essex University.
She comes from an artistic background of Artists, Set designers, Actors and Musicians and was always sure that her career would be creative in some way and first discovered Floristry aged 14. Amy worked part time in Floristry from age 15 and while studying Business management at A level, she then went travelling before returning to the UK and Floristry.
Amy has a combined 12 years of retail floristry experience including wedding design, Corporate and Sympathy designs and is a skilled Florist achieving 87% in her final practical Degree Exam.
Amy is relatively new to floral competing but was just two points away from Qualifying for Chelsea last year on only her second attempt and this yearhas Qualified for the Final in May 2012. She was awarded two Bronze awards in the Fusion Flowers International Designer of the Year Competition 2011. Amy has taken a break from Chelsea this year to be available when Amy Ford is competing and still juggle the children and the business.
Amy is a good communicator and loves teaching other florists and flower enthusiasts what she knows.
Amy is a believer in lifelong learning and intends to top up her Foundation degree to a BA very soon...
